Job Description
Position: A tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance is available for August 2018. The successful candidate's primary teaching responsibilities will be courses in finance for undergraduate finance, real estate, and other business majors. Applicants who are seeking a balance in teaching and research responsibilities will find a collegial work environment and a faculty actively engaged and committed to the growth and continuous improvement of the Finance program. Rank dependent on qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance from a nationally or internationally-recognized doctoral program. ABDs are welcome to apply with an expected degree completion date by August 1, 2018. Additional requirements include a record of excellence in teaching, a demonstrated ability to produce publishable research in finance-related journals, and demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with CFA® or CFP® credentials or demonstrated experience with CFA® or CFP® programs. Preferred requirements in a candidate also include evidence of ability to create an engaged and applied classroom environment and evidence of ability to advance the academic, professional and personal success of students.

Salary: Competitive based on qualifications and market conditions. Fringe benefits, including TIAA-CREF and IPERS, are excellent.

The Department of Finance (business. uni. edu /finance) consists of 8 faculty members and over 500 undergraduate students majoring in the department. The department has a history of teaching excellence evidenced by the active engagement of our students. Faculty are committed to high quality scholarship, are recognized in their fields, and support the College’s commitment to the scholar/teacher model. The department has a successful CFA® preparation program with students passing the CFA® Level 1 exam at twice the international average, has a financial planning program preparing students to sit for the CFP® credential, and offers the only Real Estate program in the state. The department also supports the MBA program, on campus and internationally.
